Jonathan Friedrichs Wildlife Films
I was born & raised in Vancouver and I now live in the wilds of New York. I'm fascinated by all creatures, from bears to barnacles, but orangutans are by far my favourite animal. I lived with them for two months in the jungles of Borneo which is one of the best life experiences I've ever had.
Filming wildlife takes a combination of luck, patience, research & vision. I try to compose my shots as artistically and cinematically as I can using only natural environments. You won't find cars, buildings, boats, or anything manmade in any of my films.
My go-to camera in the field is the Canon R5 with 100-500mm lens. I also use the Canon RF 600mm lens when needed.
